Pacific Conference for Development Economics
Saturday, March 13, 2010
University of Southern California

We are excited to announce that the next Pacific Conference on Development Economics will be held at the University of Southern California on Saturday March 13, 2010. This conference is presented by the Bay Area Development Association with sessions chaired by faculty from UC Berkeley, Stanford University, UC Davis, UC Riverside, UC San Diego, University of Southern California, University of San Francisco, St. Mary's College, Santa Clara University and San Francisco State University. The goal of the conference is to bring together graduate students, faculty and practitioners to present and discuss various issues facing developing economies today.

It will be a one-day event. Each of the conference sessions will consist of presentations of two to four academic research papers in a given area of research.

The morning and afternoon sessions are separated by a luncheon with a presentation by Professor Chris Udry of Yale University.

The deadline for paper submissions is January 10, 2010. Abstracts of 3-4 pages, or a completed paper are required. Please email them to pacdev2010@college.usc.edu. Proposals for an entire panel of 3-4 papers may be submitted. The registration fee will be $20 for students and $40 for faculty and non-students. The fee covers attendance to the continental breakfast, conference sessions, as well as the afternoon luncheon and lunchtime discussion. Registration forms will be posted and can be mailed in later, together with a check payment for the conference.

Please forward this email to students and colleagues who might be interested. Please email me if you would like to add anyone to our mailing list.

We are looking forward to seeing you all here in Los Angeles!

Best regards,
